Brook Forest Voices the only Production Company to Create Audio Books
This past week I had the honor of being in a competition I didn’t even know I had been entered in. Brook Forest Voices an audio production company had entered my historical fiction “A Voice From the Grave” into the CIPA EVVY awards. I got word on Monday that I have made it to the final six. I have no clue how many were entered in the audio category, but I do know there were 189 entries all total.
A Voice From the Grave won first place. The amazing thing is that Brook Forest Voices took home four awards – First place for A Voice From the Grave, Second Place for Just Beyond Harmony third place for Looking Through a Keyhole and a Merit award for ”Miri, Who Charms” by Joanne Greenberg. .
This is an amazing feat for any publishing company especially one who does audio books. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful company. If you are looking for a company to publish your book in audio you need to contact Brook Forest Voices. I have never worked with such a friendly, professional group of people in all my writing career.
I so look forward to the next chapter in my life when they create DreamCatcher Failure Was Never an Option which is due to be released in August of this year.

The Votes are in and Have Been Counted!
The other day I wrote a post about my historical fiction A Voice From the Grave, it had been nominated for the CIPA EVVY award in Colorado. It was one of the six in the finals for audio books. The winner was announced last night. A Voice From the Grave won! Yes, it got first place. One of the requirements for submission was the author had to be an expert in the subject matter. Well, boys and girls it took four years of research of the civil war, a visit to Andersonville and many many days of writing to make this book happen. As I wrote this book I continued to doing research to make sure it was historically correct. The hard work paid off.
A Voice from the Grave won a very prestigious award for its content.
Which brings me back to those of you who refuse to read indie authors, shame on you. And those traditional publishers who turned me down for years, well, your loss. I have succeeded because of you not in spite of you. I made my own path, created my own destiny and did my own thing. I did this with blood, sweat, tears and rejections from all of you. I still won! I won because I had a network of people who believed as much in me as I believed in myself. I won because Brookforest Voices though my book was good enough to enter. I won because they believed A Voice From the Grave had merit. I won because traditional publishers didn’t believe I was good enough. To them I say Thank You. You helped me be the strong, single minded author I am today. You helped create my backbone and the ability not to take “No” for an answer. To my grammer school teachers who wouldn’t let me write because math was not my best friend, I thank you for taking that away from me. It also made me stronger and more single minded.
To my brother Stan who is challenged and the catalyst for my success, I say thank you for being who you are. Had it not been for your story I would never have picked up a pen again. This award is for you.
For all of you who read my books, believe in me and can’t wait for the next one what can I say, Thank you is not enough.
For those of you who felt it necessary to attack me and my work, my thanks go to you as well. You helped sell my books. What a compliment. You have no idea how I turned your negative comments to my advantage and it sent my book sales through the roof.
Brookforest Voices what can I say. You guys rock. Took took my book and made it real. You gave it a voice and then you turned it into a winner. You are my audio company and I sing your praises to the highest mountain and the lowest valley. Thank you does not seem quite enough!
A Voice from the Grave is available on Amazon, itunes, kindle and Nook it is also available on my online bookstore at http://thebookattic.ecrater.com along with all my other jewels. Do yourself a favor go order them today, and spread the word. Indie Authors Rock!
Dream Catcher Failure Was Never An Option- Audio Book to be Released in 2012
For those of you who have read my books and follow my blog know that I currently have one of my books in audio, A Voice From the Grave was released last year in audio. This year I have chosen Dream Catcher, Failure Was Never an Option to be released in audio. This is a true story about one man’s journey into the abyss of mental retardation during the years of darkness for those who are different.
Stan was born in 1952 at a time when the handicapped were put away or ignored and left to basically fiend for themselves. Many of them were abused either in the back room of their homes or in asylums. This didn’t happen to Stan. He was loved, accepted and became a productive person in our twisted and cruel society.
He became a pioneer in the Fulton County Ga school system during the middle 1950′s and graduated from high school in 1973. He has worked in the public sector all his life and continues to do so at 60 years old. His story is one of love, acceptance, success and pain.
His story will be released on audio by Brook Forest Voices which is located in Colorado. It is currently being touted to Publisher’s Weekly by Brook Forest Voices. This book is not one that you will want to miss. It is not one that you will want someone you know who is challenged to miss. The beauty of this audio book is it will be created in mp3 format. That means the entire book is on one disc. The listener will be able to download it to their computer, mp3 player or most any other electronic device to listen to at their leisure. Even the elderly, blind or those who have limited hand mobility will be able to listen to this book without any trouble. You will also be able to listen to it on your Amazon Kindle through their audible program and you will be able to download it through itunes. You will be able to play it in the new model cars which have the mp3 player.
If you love audio books but hate having to change the disks you are going to love my books. A Voice from the Grave is available now at Amazon, itunes, Brook Forest Voices and my online store at http://thebookattic.ecrater.com
