Dream Catcher Failure Was Never An Option

Dream Catcher Failure Was Never An Option

I know that like me many of you are wandering around stories – click on sites and thumbing through catalogs looking for that special gift for the person who has everything. Well, I have the answer to your dilemma – order them an audiobook. That’s right audiobook.

My readers asked and it happened. Now is the time to spread the word. There are currently three out and two more will be released early next year. However, you can get in on the early ordering now. This is the perfect gift one that you can give over and over – With all of the electronic devices out there one can listen to books on just about anything, computers, iphones, ipads and tablets. You are not limited to just vehicles anymore. Think of it do you know someone who can no longer read the written word for health reasons, loss of eyesite, had hands, etc. Well, this is perfect, get them lost in an audio book. Get a device, a headset and turn them lose.
Why should anyone who loves stories be deprived of the written word.
All of my books are downloadable as well as on disc so there is no reason for you not to get them. Yes, they are even on itunes. Dreamcatcher is even listed in the enhanced versions so the listener can see the photos that are provided in the book.

Why make the silly season any harder than it already is? You don’t have to leave your home, you can let your fingers do the walking and you are giving a gift that someone can enjoy over and over again.
Think about this – do you know someone who is in the hospital taking Chemo or radiation and has to spend hours hooked up to a machine. It is very hard to hold a book while allowing the meds to drip through ones body. An audio book is the answer. It shuts out the noise of the room and allows the patient to lose themselves in a book. What about someone who is having dental work done. We all hate going to the dentist. Download a book plug in the headset and sail away.
As we all know hospitals are boring places to be. Audio books can take that person anyplace they want to go. On an airplane? No problem audio books – headsets and good to go. Long car trip same thing. Plug in and sail away.
So what is stopping you? Order today.

Surprises are Coming

It is a good day. Well anytime I am on this side of the dirt it is a good day. With that being said, let me just bring all of my minions up to speed as to things that have been happening. After the year got off to a rocky start, they have finally settled down and I am moving forward with some projects.

I know I haven’t published a new book in a while,  however that will be remedied soon. I have several in my cauldron and they are boiling up nicely. Second not only are my books doing quite well on Amazon Kindle they are picking up on the book side. They are now being published through Dressing your Book  http://dressingyourbook.com/ which prints from Lightening source which distributes through the two distributors Ingram and Baker and Taylor- so if you go to your favorite book store and ask for my book and they don’t have it – they can order it for you. If enough people ask for them – they will start stocking them.

Now with the basic stuff out of the way – let me just tell each of you what is coming down the pike. For those of you who loved the When Fates Collide Series, well you will have the opportunity of listening on audio soon. Both on CD and mp3. We are going into production with the first two

These two little books are the first two in the series and will be released together.

Now on to the book I am currently working on. Let;s just say, the bad guys is Mad as a Hatter. view two mad hatter's hat

I am also working on something that is very close to me- something that I have been fighting for several years. That is the corruption of Child Protective Services. They took three of my grandchildren and made money off of them.

So life is moving forward. Books are being written and audio books are in production. This year is full of great things

Soon You Will be Able to Take The Pink Canary with You

That’s right you heard it here. The Pink Canary is in audio production. Soon you will be able to carry Lola, Penelope and Vicky with you as yo go running, driving, traveling or whatever you do when you are out. The Pink Canary in all of her Pinkness is currently being produced by Brook Forest Voices. They have produced two of my other books Dream Catcher Failure was Never an Option and A Voice From the Grave.

The Pink Canary

The Pink Canary

If you haven’t yet read The Pink Canary you are missing out.

“There are bodies piling up in Key West…. Serial Killer? The bodies showing up outside a famous drag bar….is that a clue or a coincidence? A book that delves into the Life of a Drag Queen and a marvelous “Who done it?” Clever! Let’s go into their world of Mascara and Stiletto Heels and observe. Who could be killing all these gay men and why?

Yvonne Mason is the master, or mistress, of mystery in this rip roaring, fishnet stocking twisiting comedy mystery tale. This story could very well could have really happened as Yvonne Mason connects this story with some undisputed truth and history of NYC underworld and the “World Famous 82 Club”… it just might have happened, see for yourself…

The local detectives and cops go on a case that has been haunting the head detective and the main character since their days in the Big Apple. Does the detective has a love/hate relationship with the Drag Queen or is it a lot less Hate and more Love than admitted? Exciting and Hilarious! Who will be next on the list of murder?

The story is as seen through the main character’s eyes and what eyes they are! Lou the mild mannered detective by day and Lola a FABULOUS drag queen by night who can get into all kinds of trouble!! How her friends try to help her find the killer and catch the monster behind these unspeakable murders.

I have been a Drag Queen for over 40 years and this is the first time I have been asked to collaborate on a book. Drag Queens are my speciality and I have worked in Cabaret shows since 1968 as well as extensively in Musical Theater, Television, Radio and Films. I really was excited and honored to help with the book and this book was an ultimate thrill for me.Thanks toYvonne Mason for her faith in me, and for having the insight to choose me to help her navigate this drag queen world. Thanks to Peter for his energy and Marvolous Wit…We will always be connected with this superb Book! ”

Vicky Lane

Yes, the lovely Vicky Lane not only wrote the forward she also appears in this wonderful little comedy.

A Voice From the Grave Audio Book Reviews

For Audio Book

  • “Great Civil War History-Mystery”

Would you listen to A Voice from the Grave again? Why?

I think once was enough for me.

What other book might you compare A Voice from the Grave to and why?

It’s not a typical mystery thriller with a current or on-going murder spree. This tells the story in current time, unravelling the mysteries at an archeological dig; and then back in time, as the events were happening at Andersonville.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not extreme, but it made me look up some factual info on the actual Andersonville and read more about the Civil War in general.

    Any additional comments?

Strong women have always wanted to contribute to military service any way they could, even if it meant disguising themselves to do it. I think they were brave precursors to the WACS & WAVES of WWII.

  • “Good Story, Bad Narrator”

This is a well-researched story that works well for fans of the time period (Civil War). However, the narrator sounds like she’s reading to a kindergarten class and it’s just too hard to get past. Ok, I’m not a southerner, but do all people of the old south speak so slowly they sound lobotomized? And do all southern women have to sound like little girls?

  • “Secrets live forever”

What did you like best about A Voice from the Grave? What did you like least?

This book offered me a real unsanatized version of what Prisioners os war endured dung the civil war. The modern story was nicely dispersed between the horrors of the past.

What did you like best about this story?

The psychological impact that secrets have upon families and how fear and shame impact people of all ages.

Did A Voice from the Grave inspire you to do anything?

It inspired me to do more detailed Internet research into Pow camps and the civil war. Especially regardig the camp and characters in the book.

    Any additional comments?

I think this is an excellent story and is well worth the price even though I was not impressed at all with the narration.

Brook Forest Voices the only Production Company to Create Audio Books

This past week I had the honor of being in  a competition I didn’t even know I had been entered in. Brook Forest Voices an audio production company had entered my historical fiction “A Voice From the Grave” into the CIPA EVVY awards. I got word on Monday that I have made it to the final six. I have no clue how many were entered in the audio category, but I do know there were 189 entries all total.

A Voice From the Grave won first place. The amazing thing is that Brook Forest Voices took home four awards – First place for A Voice From the Grave, Second Place for Just Beyond Harmony  third place for Looking Through a Keyhole and a Merit award for “Miri, Who Charms” by Joanne Greenberg.  .

This is an amazing feat for any publishing company especially one who does audio books. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful company. If you are looking for a company to publish your book in audio you need to contact Brook Forest Voices. I have never worked with such a friendly, professional group of people in all my writing career.

I so look forward to the next chapter in my life when they create DreamCatcher Failure Was Never an Option which is due to be released in August of this year.

The Votes are in and Have Been Counted!

A Voice From the Grave

The other day I wrote a post about my historical fiction A Voice From the Grave, it had been nominated for the CIPA EVVY award in Colorado. It was one of the six in the finals for audio books. The winner was announced last night. A Voice From the Grave won! Yes, it got first place. One of the requirements for submission was the author had to be an expert in the subject matter. Well, boys and girls it took four years of research of the civil war, a visit to Andersonville and many many days of writing to make this book happen. As I wrote this book I continued to doing research to make sure it was historically correct. The hard work paid off.

A Voice from the Grave won a very prestigious award for its content.

Which brings me back to those of you who refuse to read indie authors, shame on you. And those traditional publishers who turned me down for years, well, your loss. I have succeeded because of you not in spite of you. I made my own path, created my own destiny and did my own thing. I did this with blood, sweat, tears and rejections from all of you. I still won! I won because I had a network of people who believed as much in me as I believed in myself. I won because Brookforest Voices though my book was good enough to enter. I won because they believed A Voice From the Grave had merit. I won because traditional publishers didn’t believe I was good enough. To them I say Thank You. You helped me be the strong, single minded author I am today. You helped create my backbone and the ability not to take “No” for an answer. To my grammer school teachers who wouldn’t let me write because math was not my best friend, I thank you for taking that away from me. It also made me stronger and more single minded.

To my brother Stan who is challenged and the catalyst for my success, I say thank you for being who you are. Had it not been for your story I would never have picked up a pen again. This award is for you.

For all of you who read my books, believe in me and can’t wait for the next one what can I say, Thank you is not enough.

For those of you who felt it necessary to attack me and my work, my thanks go to you as well. You helped sell my books. What a compliment. You have no idea how I turned your negative comments to my advantage and it sent my book sales through the roof.

Brookforest Voices what can I say. You guys rock. Took took my book and made it real. You gave it a voice and then you turned it into a winner. You are my audio company and I sing your praises to the highest mountain and the lowest valley. Thank you does not seem quite enough!

BrookForest Voices the best production company in the world

A Voice from the  Grave is available on Amazon, itunes, kindle and Nook it is also available on my online bookstore at http://thebookattic.ecrater.com along with all my other jewels. Do yourself a favor go order them today, and spread the word. Indie Authors Rock!
