For those of you who love Edgar Allen Poe I have a new podcast up where I read three more of his poems. He has always been one of my favorite authors. He was never appreciated for his work until long after he was gone. In fact, friends and family tried their best to discourage him from writing. But any of you who are artists, know it is not something we can do. If we don’t work our craft it drives us crazy. The three poems I read are not ones that are well known, however they are powerful. Edgar Allen Poe
If you haven’t yet read this great author you should.
As 2015 draws to a close I want to leave you with a podcast that includes the writings of one of my favorite authors. I have read this author since I was a child. His movie The House of Usher with Vincent Price was the first horror movie I ever saw. It has remained the only horror movie that I have ever enjoyed watching. It was more gothic, suspense rather than horror. This author was never fully appreciated until after his death -even though he continued to write and publishing up until his death. His passion for life, emotions and his ability to get inside the inner core of one’s psychic has yet to be accomplished by any other writer I have read. The author about whom I speak is Edgar Allan Poe- There is no other like him.
So with that being said, I hope you enjoy the three poems I read on this podcast Edgar Allan Poe
May 2016 bring you the best in life.
Last night I was semi watching TV and my mind began to wonder. Sometimes it does that. I got to thinking about “Happiness” and the old adage “Making someone Happy” or making me happy – the more I thought about it the more I discovered. Nothing or no one “makes” me happy or unhappy. That comes from within me. I am happy within my soul. So I decided to share this information with all of you- As the year draws to a close and we begin to reflect what we might do different next year. I challenge each of you to find that happiness within. Listen to my podcast and learn some insight. Please leave comments and share and download. The more we can spread this around the more people will learn to be happy.
This morning on my podcast I read a poem by a friend of mine titled Dandelion. It is a very deep poem and I asked that each one of you who listens to give me your interpretation of the poem. I give mine on the podcast. I want to apologize in advance for the rudeness of my little Maltease who decided to bark throughout the entire podcast. He was barking at his imaginary buggers. I guess you could say he was listening to the voices in his head! Anyway, my friend’s name is Marten Hoyle he can be found on facebook. He is an author and will soon be releasing his new work. So friend him, get to know him. Also if you have not yet checked out all of my podcast please do, leave comments, they are very important to me. And if you are an aspiring artist and would like to see your work out there, I will be happy to promote for you- read some of your work on my podcast and just generally help you get started. The same for those of you who are already out there. We are only as successful as we allow others to be.
So check out my podcast on Sound Cloud, Yvonne Mason I am alos on itunes under podcast under Author Yvonne Mason and I can be found on stitcher some of thoe podcast are messed up as the developers screwed them up when they uploaded them. Apparently Stitcher is still in beta- you can download the app to your phone. Soon it will be on Sirus Radio.
So look for my I am everywhere
Well, this morning was a morning of reflection and soul searching- true soul searching. Especially when I found a bit of prose by my friend Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc The title of the prose found in her book Strange Brew is called “I haven’t Changed” as I read it because I was looking for something to grab each of you for my newest podcast, it hit me. This described me to a T. I have changed – I have changed and morphed in ways I did not fully realize. Talking about the lightbulb going off over my head. So that bit of prose became the basis for my podcast “Change Within Ourself” – You see if we don’t change and grow especially after a loss, then we stagnate and die. So I am going to give you a direct link to this podcast and get you to listen, please leave comments- I love feedback on my podcasts- since it is not live radio- I don’t know what you all are thinking. Here is the link, check it out it is downloadable and sharable. It is also on itunes and should be on stitcher, if you have it. That is if they haven’t screwed it up like they did several of my podcasts. Maybe they will get their act together and fix it soon. Anyway, I got off track, here is the link please go and listen, share and keep sharing. Change is not always a bad thing. Change Within Yourself
This morning I have been busy. I just posted a couple of new podcast which can be found on soundcloud and itunes. The first one is an interview I did on a radio show called Seeta and Friends. It was about bullying.Bullying it is still processing so it might be a bit before you can listen to it. The second one is very close to my heart. IT is about my love for America and and what we as Americans are doing to our country. We are about to lose the best country in the world because we are becoming so divided thanks to those in Washington. Included in this podcast is a poem written by my wonderful friend Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc Who does The Dark Apostle’s Bewitching Hour and also Cafe Noir Productions Listen to my podcast, it is downloadable and shareable. So please share Love For America
So if you love your country as much as I do then listen to both of these.
As most of you know I am an author and have over 17 published works. It has not been an easy journey, but then anything that is worthwhile is not an easy journey, if it were then everyone would do it. That being said, I want you to listen to my latest podcast.I watched a video of a young man by the name of Jordan Smith who is a contestant on this season’s The Voice. He performed a song titled “Who You Are” when he was finished he was in tears. The reason is simple, when asked he stated that he was finally able to say he was okay with who he was. The lyrics to this song are very true. In my podcast I talk about the lyrics and how true they are.
As humans we do not always accept who we are. We can be our own worst critic. I know I was for years. I tired to be all things to all people and in the process lost myself. When I finally woke up and and understood that I had to be true to myself and if others refused to accept that, then it was on them and not me.
So, for all of you out there who are afraid to be true to yourself, understand you cheat yourself and you can never live up to the expectations of others, because it will destroy you. I know I have been there.
So take a listen to this podcast, it is downloadable so you can share. https://soundcloud.com/bestsellingauthoryvonnema/who-you-are
