My Wonderful Friend and Fellow Author Ashley Fontainne Releases A New Book through Her Publishing Imprint

It is a rare event when you are fortunate enough to be a part of releasing a piece of history to the public. My publishing imprint, RMSW Press, falls into that category. While conducting research for a historical novel I am currently working on, a chance meeting took place with Daisy McDonald, the widow of former Dallas Police Officer Maurice N. “Nick” McDonald.  Mr. McDonald had written his memoirs about how his life was impacted from the moment he arrested Lee Harvey Oswald at a movie theater in Dallas. Sadly, Mr. McDonald passed away in 2005 and his heartfelt, 300+ page story sat unread inside a thick binder.

I met Daisy McDonald in Hot Springs, Arkansas in April of 2013 after a speaking/fact finding engagement. After the meeting, she approached me with questions about my experiences in publishing. We immediately hit it off and talked several times over the course of the next few weeks when she offered me the unimaginable: she wanted RMSW Press to publish her husband’s work.

So, it is with humility, thankfulness and a sense of duty to honor one of Mr. McDonald’s dying wishes that I bring to you the amazing cover (designed by the team of professionals at Blue Harvest Creative) for Mr. McDonald’s novel, Oswald & I, as well as the book trailer. Look for the paperback and ebook on Amazon, Barnes&Noble and Kobo November 2013.

Five Star Review for My Short Story Blood Alley On Kindle and Nook

I received this review last night. Ashley Fontainne  is an indie author with a couple of books under her belt one being Zero Balance. This book will knock your socks off.

Blood Alley A Short Story of Horror

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware of the Dog!,May 14, 2012
This review is from: Blood Alley (A Short Story) (Kindle Edition)

This is the second book that I have had the privilege to read by the multi-talented Yvonne Mason. The first was a true crime novel that downright frightened me because it was based upon a real, breathing monster.

This second story, while purely fiction, lives up to the thrills and packs a quick pace that makes Yvonne an impeccably gifted story-teller.

A dark road…a lonely, tired soul not paying attention…and things that “growl” in the night. Combine them all together and you get this fantastic short, Blood Alley.

Sometimes, the hero and the rewarding justice they seek isn’t bestowed upon the one that you think! This is a wicked vignette that will leave you dizzy at the end from the twisted ending! Way to go Yvonne!

Ramblings of a Mad Southern Woman (A Collection of Short Stories and Poetry on Life, Love, Loss and Longing)

If you haven’t yet read this wonderful author you are missing out. Currently this wonderful little book is only available on Amazon Kindle and it is well worth the read. Ms. Fontainne knows about heart ache, pain and the true grit of being a southern woman – one who has to maintain that stiff upper lip no matter what happens. This is my review of her latest and intriguing book Ramblings of a Mad Southern Woman, (A Collection of short stories and Poetry on life, love, Loss and Longing). We as women have all been there at one time or another. Ms. Fontainne brings our inner souls to life.

Review:
Ashley Fontainne has crawled into the mind of most women who have ever been loved – cheated on and left. She has crawled into our deepest closets and pulled out all the skeletons that reside there. From the very first poem to the last short story page Ms. Fontainne delves into the heart and souls of human nature. There is a fine line between love and hate and Ms. Fontainne straddles it like a high wire act.
But, through it all she maintains her faith in her God, her family and her self.
She has put on paper what most of us feel at one time or another but are just to frightened to admit it.
A Five star read for sure.http://www.amazon.com/Ramblings-Southern-Collection-Stories-ebook/dp/B007Z1IGJO/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1336395343&sr=1-4

Another Five Star Review for Silent Scream by Author Ashley Fontainne

Silent Scream A True Crime

Once again the voice of the victims of Florida’s First Serial Killer Gerard Schaefer have a voice. Author Ashley Fontainne has added her voice to those of the girls and allowed them to speak through her. I have always said the victims are driving the train of this book. They are the ones who give Silent Scream the voice. They are the ones who have been screaming silently for over thirty years because no one but their families remembered them. They are not out of the darkness and into the light. They are no longer surrounded by the evil that permeated from their killer, Gerard Schaefer. He is no longer the voice of the girls. They have their own voice and with that voice they finally find peace.

Thank you Ashley for being a part of that voice, for listening to their screams for hearing their cries and for remembering them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth: Always stranger than fiction, March 22, 2012
By Ashley Fontainne “Ashley” (Malvern, Arkansas) – See all my reviewsThis review is from: Silent Scream A True Crime (Kindle Edition)

So many people enjoy a book full of mystery, suspense, thrills and chills, cringing when the antagonist wreaks havoc on the pages, cheering when the protagonist gains the upper hand and wins.

But that is fiction, and this story by Yvonne Mason was based on real life events. That alone made me give pause while I read her well-researched work, wondering, as she did, what truly made this monster tick and feeling nothing but empty sadness for the poor trail of victims and their families left behind in his evil wake.

Yvonne Mason obviously spent untold hours of research delving into the mind of a serial killer long since dead (thank goodness) and it shows in her work. Her care and compassion for the hapless women that suffered unspeakable horror during their last moments on earth will truly send shivers up your spine. Questions posed about the mindset of this truly evil man are left unanswered because no one, not even Gerard John Schaefer himself, could really understand the depths of his insanity.

This is a gripping story that will leave the reader perhaps a bit more cautious in daily life, wondering what evil truly does lurk around the next corner.

Yvonne Mason summed up this book at the end:

“I must give them a voice. Now, no longer will the victims scream in silence, they now have a voice, and with this voice, comes peace. For the girls – sleep well.”

Amen, Yvonne. May all of them rest in peace.

If You Missed the Show Last Night…….

<a“” width=”199″ height=”300″ />

Best Selling Florida Author Yvonne Mason

Well kiddies, if you missed the show last night you missed an hour of side splitting, belly laughing, tear running fun. I was a guest on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ashleyfontainne/2012/03/11/yvonne-mason. We talked and laughed about many things including the fact that her co-host Bennet Pomerantz was stuck between to true southern girls who gave him no slack. In between laughing and talking with him, I did manage to discuss my books and why I write.

Yes, we also talked about my hats and the flying monkeys that are always appearing on my facebook page and why they are so important to me.

Go listen to the show, learn a bit about me and why I do what I do. I am not your average author. I don’t stick to just one genre. The voices in my head won’t let me. I learned a long time ago to just let them do their thing. Sometimes it gets extremely crowded in there. But such as it is with authors. I love what I do and no I don’t expect to get rich- but in the big picture I am already richer beyond my wildest dreams.

When Fates Collide

We talked about the conception of this little jewel and her sister.

When Fates Collide Mardi Gras Bound

Both of these books should be illegal because they are so funny. This book comes with a disclaimer that we are not responsible for soiled clothing as you are reading it.

Dream Catcher Failure Was Never an Option

This is the reason I am successful. This book is the heart and soul of our family. He has never quit even though he could. So we never quit.

Blood Alley

This little short story is only available right now on kindle and nook. It is well worth the read. It will make you think twice about traveling late at night alone on a two lane black top.

A Voice From the Grave

My historical fiction is available in book form, kindle, kindle audible, nook and in an mp3 CD format. If you enjoy reading about history of the civil war you will love this book.

Tangled Minds

Every teen should read this book. There are life’s lessons as well as entertainment between the pages. Actions always create and equal or opposite reaction which will without fail create a consequence!

The Last Rites

My second true crime. She was raped and executed and left in a remote area. To add insult to injury no one cared enough to claim her body. She was buried by the county in a pauper’s grave. Read her story and remember her death and honor her life.

Silent Scream A True Crime

Florida’s first serial killer Gerard Schaefer tortured and executed between 9-34 young and young women. This is their story.

Brilliant Insanity

Brilliant Insanity the title says it all. A serial killer has five days to live and he is allowed to tell his story. The story is told in first person and will keep you up nights. No it is not a true crime. But it could have happened.

Check out the show and my books. They are all on Amazon, Lulu, Kindle, Nook, itunes, ebooks, and my online bookstore if you would like a signed copy at http://thebookattic.ecrater.com

Go listen to the show laugh till you cry – then go order my books – it will make your day.
