Never Be Afraid to Pay it Forward

Ever since I started in the business of publishing and making my dream real, I have always paid it forward. Not just in publishing but in my everyday life. The reason is simple, there have been many times that others have helped me along they way and even though I can never repay those people I can pay it forward. Yesterday I was knocked off my feet by a group of people who I am not only honored to call fellow authors I am honored to call them friends.

The back story is this – my son who has been an over the road truck driver for over twenty years has an illness that the doctors cannot diagnose. He has been out of work for over a year now and it has been a struggle for his family. His youngest son who is still a wee one has type one diabetes and is insulin dependent. My son feels so bad because he can not work and look after his family – he was raised that no matter what the father takes care of the family. That is just the way it is. However, that being said, yesterday something happened that left yours truly without words.

This circle of writers and friends along with my editor and friend Kelly J Koch with Dressing your Book http://dressingyourbook.com/ and Nicholas Grabowsky with Black Bed Sheets and GL Lentz https://www.facebook.com/gjl1976 put together an anthology of horror stories titled Blessings from the Darkness with all proceeds going to my Son Jay Thomason https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Truck-Driver-Needs-Your-Help/1427603737463723?ref=hl and his family. In other words over 30 authors came together to put this anthology together and are no receiving any royalties at all. Unless you are an author you have no idea what a sacrifice that is for an author. To put that much work in a work and then to give away the proceeds is overwhelming. It speaks for the integrity of those involved- It is with heartfelt thanks and humbleness I give you Blessings From the Darkness.

Here is the radio show that blew me away and the release of the book http://www.blogtalkradio.com/francy/2014/01/17/fright-day-afternoon-with-satans-holiday-writers

The Pink Canary Is Almost Completed

The Grand Canary

It won’t be long now before the release of  The Pink Canary. It will keep you on the edge of your seat between laughter and suspense.  I have added a new person to my list of  wonderful contributors. Her name is Kelly Koch and she is now my editor. She not only keeps my spelling and dropped words straight she has the insight to help me add depth to the characters. She does it in such a way that I just want to hug her neck for getting into my head. She has the uncanny ability to see things the way I see them even before it goes on paper.

She is not one of those typical editor/ proofers who are frustrated writers and want to rewrite your book the way they want it to read. She actually believes in the story the writer is writing and works to help that writer do well.

Her prices are so wonderful. She understands that in this downward economy that authors still need to get their work edited and most cannot afford to break the bank for and editor.  Her site is listed below. Check her out. Not only is she offering editing she is also  offering other little ditties. She will even dust off that resume for you and make it employment ready.

I highly recommend her, you won’t be sorry. I now have the best cover designer and now the best editor in the business.
