The Pink Canary Just Keeps on Getting Five Star Reviews The Ladies Thank You

When I started this little jewel I had no idea where it would take me. Like all of my books, they take on a life of their own as the voices of the characters take over the story. Who would have thought that when I started the research of drag queens that I would learn so much and would have so much fun. I could not have done it without the one and only Vicky Lane who performed for many years in New York and Canada. She led me into the world of drag queens – their culture their quirks and their drama. And that brings in my sweet and best friend friend Peter aka Penelope who played a major role in the story. All of this brings me to the current review. When someone says they laughed out loud while reading the book and stayed up nights just to see where the story was going- it makes me proud. It means they were as the reviewer said “Entertained” If you haven’t gotten it you should. You will not regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn’t put it down! October 9, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition
I was waiting for this release since I first heard about it. It definitely lived up to the hype! I stayed up late several nights just to finish it because I needed to know what was going to happen! There are several times I was laughing out loud, and I also loved how descriptive the author is. Overall a very entertaining read.

For Those of You Who have Wondered Who My Co – Conspirator is in the When Fates Collide Series Here She is

Okay kiddies this is for all of you who have wondered who in the world was insane enough to co-write When Fates Collide the series with me.  You know the one- When Fates Collide, When Fates Collide Mardi Gras Bound and the latest release When Fates Collide Arm Candy. Well let me introduce you to her. I am proud to call her not only friend but also sister in our insane writings. We have known each other for many years when both of us were caught up in the not so nice workings of a publisher who to this day shall remain nameless. To say this publisher was a crook is an understatement. (Another story for another day) On the flip side Andrea and I met joined forces and have been sisters ever since. While she lives on the West Coast of Florida and I live on the East it is like there is no distance between us.

When we write it is like we are sitting side by side with one mind (twisted though it may be). Our characters are the same way. They act as one unit even though they are as different as daylight and dark.

Andy as I like to call her no longer writes, she has chosen to move on to other endeavors however – she is always up to the antics of Hope and Alex the characters we brought together a couple of years ago simply because we could.

Today Andy has taken the path of a yoga instructor- and it is not the typical yoga. She also is able to perform weddings of any kind – she prefers not to do religious but other than that she is up to just about anything else.

She can teach a student yoga via the internet so you don’t have to be in front of her- however if you live close by you can meet with her on Sundays when she does a group yoga session.

She is one talented lady and one that I am blessed to have in my life. She believes in the old Wise Woman ways and is not afraid to talk about it.

If you have not yet hooked up with this wonderful – beautiful creature you are missing out. But you must know this, like me she does not suffer fools lightly nor does she put up with BS- like me she knows that life is way to short. She tells it like it is if you ask you. So if you really don’t want to know don’t ask. On the flip side she is kind, funny, wicked, loyal and loving. She supports no-kill shelters for animals, and like me she thinks that for the most part animals are better company than most humans.

If you haven’t friended her – you are missing out. You won’t regret it. Like her Yoga page on facebook hook up with her on her friends page and learn how to renew your mind, body and soul through Yoga. She can teach you how!!!!!

The Very First Review for When Fates Collide Arm Candy is in!

In my morning mail I found the very first review for When Fates Collide Arm Candy the third in the When Fates Collide series I co-write with Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc. It was a nice beginning to my week. The series was born when Andrea decided that we needed to co-write with each other. We each drew on our experiences. She at the time worked in an office and was bored out of her mind, I on the other hand, had been a bounty hunter before moving to Florida.

It was a match made in Heaven so to speak- two women who are polar opposites came together to create something so funny that we put disclaimers in the front of the book. That disclaimer is we are not responsible for soiled clothing as the reader reads the books.

When Fates Collide Arm Candy takes the reader on a ride of all rides- The fun starts at the first page and doesn’t stop until the end.

Here is the review from a reader by the name of Cynda Crance I will let her tell you in her words her reactions:

“Just finished reading When Fates Collide, Arm Candy by Yvonne Mason and her co-writer Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc. The characters are colorful and full of adaptability to the ever changing pursuits they use to capture the bad guys. A fast moving, captivating, and enjoyable book to read.”

If you haven’t yet picked up this little book you need to – but you might want to read the first two before – When Fates Collide, When Fates Collide Mardi Gras Bound and you dont’ want to forget The Pink Canary as we bring some of the unique characters from that book into When Fates Collide Arm Candy.

Thank you Cynda for this review.

The Third in the Series is Coming- When Fates Collide Arm Candy

It is coming get ready- That’s right the third in the series co- written with Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc  in our When Fates Collide Series. This time Hope and Alex are headed to St. Marteen but it doesn’t stop there. The slippery jumpers run off to Key West. The fun only gets funnier as Hope and Alex enlist the help of their drag Queen friends, Penelope- Vicky and Lola in order to catch Momma and St. James. The non stop laughter will keep you crossing your legs so as not to soil your undergarments.

If you haven’t yet met Alex Morgan and Hope Harrington and their merry band of bail recovery agents then you are missing it.

When Fates Collide the first in the series introduces the readers to Hope and Alex:

When Fates Collide

When Fates Collide

When Fates Collide Mardi Gras bound takes this insanely hilarious group to The Big Easy where the knee slapping- rib splitting fun gets them in all sorts of trouble. (This book comes with a disclaimer that we are not responsible for soiled clothing):

And soon to be released is the third in this fun filled, series: When Fates Collide Arm Candy. But we add a bit of a kick to this one we bring in some of the characters from my stand alone The Pink Canary (another side splitting – foot stomping – knee slapping comedy):

More Coming with Hope and Alex

Okay boys and girls and children of all ages just when you thought you would not see another book by me for a while it happens. Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc (you remember her she was the Mistress of  the Damned) and I are smack in the middle of the third  When Fates Collide Series.  You remember Hope Harrington the mousy secretary who just had to have a change in her dull life and Alex Morgan the cynical no nonsense bounty hunter. They hooked up in When Fates Collide when Alex thought Hope was her jumper and embarrassed her by taking her down in Hope’s local haunt.

After that it was on like Donkey Kong (for those of you to young to understand it was one of the first video games before you were born). Hope insisted that she hook up with Alex to go after the real jumper – why not she wasn’t busy that weekend- just like she was not busy any weekend.

Hope didn’t know that he life would forever change as she knew it. Each case would be as different as night and day. She would go places meet people and do things that she never expected to do in her drab little life.

When Fates Collide was just the beginning:when fates collied front for press releases

After grabbing their jumper in Key West Hope and Alex are off to New Orleans right in the middle of Mardi Gras to pick up a Marie wanna be who has decided to lead them on a merry chase in the bayou along with a few more colorful characters which makes Hope’s head spin and that is just the beginning. Things as usual do not go as planned and Hope finds herself in a place she never thought she would be. Alex of course isn’t happy she has to not only get her jumper she also has to find Hope who is no MIA during the middle of Mardi Gras (Cue the music from Deliverance):

When Fates Collide Mardi Gras Bound

When Fates Collide Mardi Gras Bound

Things go from bad to worse in the newest installment of the Abbott and Costello slapstick ride. After Hope and Alex finish their little adventure in New Orleans with  a little help from their friends they find themselves in St. Marteen looking for an old Nemesis- which turns out to be two of them. This adventure is not complete without a few old friends from Key West one of the being the owner of The Pink Canary:

The Pink Canary

The Pink Canary

The Pink Canary is owned by a Private Eye named Lou who not only owns the club he is the headliner known as Lola. Lola has a sidekick who is known as Penelope and a new found friend also a drag queen Vicky.

The newest adventure of Hope and Alex begin in St. Marteen and it seems that these three ladies have shown up in St. Marteen at a very good  time. Alex enlists their aid and catching her new jumpers  St.James and of course Momma. This new adventure while starting in St. Marteen ends up back in Key West where Hope once again finds herself in the middle of a situation.

The Abbott and Costello slapstick continues in the newest of the series When Fates Collide Arm Candy. Alex and Hope are running out of time as they try to out think and out smart St. James and Momma in order to get them back to jail. They enlist the aid of St. James’s newest squeeze better known as his arm candy. But as with all of our books things are not always as they seem:When Fates Collide - Arm Candy

If you have not yet read the series or Pink Canary you might just want to pick them up. They are all stand alones however they are funnier when read in sequence. Pink Canary is not part of the series however, the characters were brought into Arm Candy to help out.

Andrea and I are not responsible for wet clothing that you the reader might end up wearing as a result of uncontrollable laughter while reading these books. There are disclaimers in the book to that effect. We just write the stories we are not responsible for  anything that our characters do or cause.

These are great little reads- They are fun and they are entertaining. Arm Candy will be out later this year so you have time to read the others before the release. All of these books are on kindle and nook. They can be purchased on Amazon and Lulu and you can buy direct from me.

So what are you waiting for go have some fun read comedy.

Five Star Review for When Fates Collide

When Fates Collide

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful
5.0 out of 5 stars Hysterical romp! September 13, 2012
By Ashley Fontainne
I have read several true crime novels penned by Yvonne Mason and became a fan of her impeccable detail and research. She is a voice in the wilderness that speaks for the lost souls of those brutally taken before their time. After reading numerous novels, I became a fan.

Yvonne also possesses a wicked sense of humor and that is evident in this novel, along with co-author Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc, When Fates Collides. Part mystery, part thriller and a huge dollop of side-splitting humor, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Told from the perspectives of each of the main characters, it is a hysterical look into the lives of two women–polar opposites in every way–that find themselves smack in the middle of crazy scenarios while trying to catch a bail jumper.

Hope Harrington is the quiet, shy and introverted character that has her life completely turned upside down by the presence of spirited and sassy bail bondswoman, Alex Morgan. Hope soon finds herself in the middle of a new mystery when Alex cajoles her into a trip to Key West, Florida to assist her in snagging a wanted man that has jumped bail. Hope, realizing that her life is “…as exciting as watching paint dry” decides that some excitement and possibly a career change are in order, and so begins their adventure.

Reading this book was like sitting in the room with the two characters while they recalled their tale, each one inserting their version of events, thoughts and feelings at precisely the right moments. Some of the scenes that took place in Key West were absolutely crazy! At times, I had to put down my Kindle because I was laughing so hard.

If you are looking for a mystery that is shrouded with bouts of humor between the two strong female characters, I recommend this book.

My Review of ‘The Pink Canary’ by Yvonne Mason

Title: The Pink Canary
Author: Yvonne Mason
Genre: Thriller/Comedy
Publisher: Lulu

ASIN# B008VEL1SC

“Hell Hath No Fury Like A Drag Queen Scorned!”

No, ‘The Pink Canary’ is not an English play – although if the great playwright, William Congreve, could be here today, and was given a chance to read ‘The Pink Canary’ by Yvonne Mason, ‘Hell Hath No Fury Like A Drag Queen Scorned’ just might be the title of his next winning play – based on Yvonne Mason’s new book of course, ‘The Pink Canary’.

I have read several of, Yvonne Mason’s literary works but I must say this piece is unique – exceptional in the fact that she waved her magic pencil like a wand – created a fresh storyline that includes some of her most outstanding characters to date.

As the story begins, it takes you on a roller coaster ride from New York to Miami. Imagine for a moment that a serial killer is loose in Miami, and he or she, is targeting Drag queens – accumulating body parts as trophies. An ex-private detective, now headliner and owner of the hottest drag queen establishment in Miami, teams up with a homophobic detective to try to solve the case. Add in ‘one’ badass drag queen toting a can of aqua net hairspray in one hand and a pair of Chinese hooker heals in the other – well, things are going to get ugly very quick!

I gave ‘The Pink Canary’ five stars for originality, delightful humor, and crime fighting suspense!

Visit Yvonne Mason’s author page at Amazon to see all of her literary works!
