If Someone is Going to Write a Review They Need to Read the Book

It never ceases to amaze me the lengths that people will go for their fifteen minutes of fame. When I read this review I couldn’t decide if the person was kidding, ignorant or just didn’t read the book. I came to the conclusion after reading the review several times that two of the above things were probably true. They plainly didn’t read the book and they were ignorant. This is the review-

“I purchased this shook and was very disappointed with the writing and story. It talked about 2 females at the prison and in the story nothing was really told about it. It was deceiving in the caption and actual story. It didn’t really go into the history of the prison either.” By dalova1@rocketmail.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase

Let me break it down for the reviewer who says her name is Dalova. First of all she says it talked about two females at the prison. All I can say about that insane comment is Seriously? It is obvious that she did not read any of the book. She did not follow the story line because her next comment is this “and in the story nothing was really told about it.” My question to her is this, What was not told that you wanted told? She says the Caption and actual story are “deceiving” Please explain yourself. She also says it doesn’t go into the history of the prison. Really-? That statement alone makes my case for me. The book is filled with the history of the prison it is built into the story. She very obviously did not read the book. She starts her review off with this. “I purchased this shook (yes, she wrote “shook”not book) and was very disappointed with the writing and story.” Again, it goes without saying that she did not even read the second chapter, much less finish the first one.
This is not even a good bad review. IT is just a string of words put together to form several sentences. Apparently this person spends her life writing reviews for first one thing or another. This book took four years of research plus a personal visit to Andersonville. So yes indeed, the history is there if one takes time to read the book. IT is filled with history, and while there is a female or two in the story- there is so much more.
Sadly, she didn’t get it, she cheated herself. Oh and for her information this book won first place at the CIPA awards after it was released.

Brook Forest Voices the only Production Company to Create Audio Books

This past week I had the honor of being in  a competition I didn’t even know I had been entered in. Brook Forest Voices an audio production company had entered my historical fiction “A Voice From the Grave” into the CIPA EVVY awards. I got word on Monday that I have made it to the final six. I have no clue how many were entered in the audio category, but I do know there were 189 entries all total.

A Voice From the Grave won first place. The amazing thing is that Brook Forest Voices took home four awards – First place for A Voice From the Grave, Second Place for Just Beyond Harmony  third place for Looking Through a Keyhole and a Merit award for “Miri, Who Charms” by Joanne Greenberg.  .

This is an amazing feat for any publishing company especially one who does audio books. I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful company. If you are looking for a company to publish your book in audio you need to contact Brook Forest Voices. I have never worked with such a friendly, professional group of people in all my writing career.

I so look forward to the next chapter in my life when they create DreamCatcher Failure Was Never an Option which is due to be released in August of this year.
