My Books, writing tips and reviews

This is the link to a Radio Show I was on In September

On September 28th I was on a local radio show in Cocoa, Florida. The name of the show is Seeta and Friends. We talked about many things including my books. The main conversation we had concerned dealing with grief. I lost a granddaughter and my dad all within six weeks of each other between July 2nd and August 10th – The odd thing is I was called on a Sat that my granddaughter was being transported and I was called on a Sat that my dad was being transported. It gets even more strange. My granddaughter was transported on the same date as my sister had entered the hospital for the last time four years ago. My granddaughter died on the same date as my sister died four years earlier.
When I got the call that my granddaughter was not going to recover it was on a Monday. Again on a Monday six weeks later I got the call that my father had died. Strange? Coincidence? I don’t think so – There was a plan. Anyway we discussed death, grief and loss among other things on this hour show. You can also read about my sister and our loss with her in my book Pennies From Heaven

Also listen to the show. If you are grieving due to loss, I think you will get something out of it. http://www.mediafire.com/listen/zg5a79of3n6vtmb/Seeta_2015-09-28.mp3

We Never Know Our Impact on People

Today I was in Cocoa, Florida doing a radio interview on Viewpoint with Seeta. http://www.seetamediainc.com/ The show was an hour long and we talked about many topics. We discussed my books and my background. Then we got down to the heart of the matter. We discussed grief, dealing with grief and loss and the new normal after a death. For those of you who don’t know I lost my 13 year old granddaughter on July 2, 1015 and six weeks later on August 10th I lost my father. It was a tsunami of loss and grief in a short time span. There was not time to grieve for the baby before we were traveling back to Atlanta to bury my father. That is the back story. I had previously written a book along with several other authors titled Pennies From Heaven. This little book holds stories from people talking about how they dealt or did not deal with loss. It is not a how to book, but a book to help someone cope and move forward.

When I got home I found this note on my facebook page, from Seeta the host of the show “Thank you for your continued support of our radio show Yvonne Mason.I wanted to let you know someone whose son passed away six months ago wanted me to let you know you helped her to let go of bottled up grief today.God truly sends angels when we need it♡”

Talk about humbled. I was truly humbled. After the show Seeta and I were talking and we both said, that is doesn’t matter how rich or poor one is, we all will be in the same place on day, that is death’s door. The important thing is the DASH between our birth and death dates. What we do to give back, how we behave, how we love and how we help others. That is what we will be remembered for- not how rich we were, not how much money we gave
away, not how poor we were not the clothes we wore or the car we drove, But the mettle of our character. I for one do not want to be weighed and found wanting. I wanted to be remembered for one thing, “She made a difference.”
I do not know the name of the lady that contacted Seeta, but I know that she was touched by the show. My prayer for her is that now she finds the peace that passes all understanding and that now she can celebrate her son’s life, to be grateful for the time she had with him, not bitter for the loss she suffered. That she will honor his life not mourn his death. Because I am sure he made a difference.

It’s A Man’s World Radio Interview

Last night my dear friend Marvin Anderson who has the show It’s a Man’s World interviewed several of the contributors from the anthologies that we just released Satan’s Holiday and Welcome to Your Nightmare
Satan's Holiday and Welcome to Your Nightmare

The two hours of knee slapping, pant wetting, side hugging laughter was over the top. Not only did he interview the contributors he made them feel at ease because many of them had never been on a radio show before much less been interviewed for anything. Marvin was a contributor to these little jewels of horror. He has never been published before now either.

The show was filled with many new and interesting facts that have never before been told. One of our contributors Ian Bush is a member of our military he is in the Air Force- Thank you Ian for your service. Marvin also had on his show the one and only Nicholas Grabowsky who gave a bit of unknown history about himself. Back in 1988 when he was first approached by the people involved in the movie Halloween they asked him to write the book Halloween IV using the screenplay he was promised many things and was delivered none. He was never paid anything for that book. He is one of the original indie authors. He took his destiny in his own hands and never looked back. Halloween IV has been redone and is available on Amazon and Black Bed Sheets http://www.downwarden.com/

Here is the show from last night- be prepared to change your clothes:https://www.dropbox.com/s/7rowa2dvg3td7l7/AMansWorld-OctoberFifteenth.mp3

Please support our contributors in their dreams!!! They all can be found on facebook and will be glad to send you a signed copy of their books.
